Refund policy

This policy applies to professional service engagements with Datasysinsights for partner oversight audits and related reviews for embedded finance programmes. Website prices are informational only; binding fees appear in your signed proposal.

Eligibility

Refunds apply only to fees paid under a signed proposal. Enquiries and scoping calls are free and create no refundable charges.

Cooling-off and cancellation before kickoff

If you cancel in writing before the agreed kickoff date and before we have begun substantive work (document requests, interviews, or fieldwork), you may receive a full refund of fees paid for that engagement, less any non-refundable third-party costs disclosed in the proposal (for example room hire or specialist transcripts), within fourteen days of written cancellation.

After work has started

Once kickoff has occurred or we have begun reviewing partner files, refunds are partial. We invoice for time and materials completed at the rates in the proposal, plus committed non-cancellable costs. Any prepaid balance above that amount is refunded within twenty-one days of the final account.

Completed deliverables

Fees for completed milestones — for example a delivered diligence memo, monitoring assessment, or board briefing pack — are non-refundable once the deliverable has been issued in final form.

Deposits

Where a proposal requires a deposit to reserve a start date, the deposit is credited to the engagement fee. If you cancel after we have reserved the slot but before kickoff with less than five business days’ notice, we may retain up to fifty percent of the deposit to cover preparation and scheduling loss; the remainder is refunded.

Rescheduling

You may reschedule a kickoff once without charge if you give at least five business days’ notice. Later or repeated reschedules may incur a rescheduling fee stated in the proposal, or we may treat the change as a cancellation under this policy.

No-shows

If key client contacts miss scheduled workshops or interviews without twenty-four hours’ notice, that session may be marked complete for scheduling purposes and re-booked at additional fee if capacity allows. Missed sessions are not automatically refundable.

Client-caused delays

If evidence or access is not provided within agreed windows and the engagement cannot proceed, we may pause or close the engagement and invoice for work performed. Prepaid unused fees may be refunded or credited as agreed in writing.

Method and timing

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible, or by bank transfer to the paying entity. Processing typically takes fourteen to twenty-one days after approval, depending on banks.

Exceptions

This policy does not cover goods, software licences, subscriptions, or shipping — Datasysinsights does not sell those. Statutory rights under Hong Kong law that cannot be excluded remain available.
